Health Innovation East Midlands has supported the Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland ICS to undertake a review of public engagement with underserved communities across the region.

The work looked at the public engagement that took place over a 2-year period (up to Dec 2023) led by partners across the ICS area by NHS, health and care, research, and community & voluntary organisations.

As well as collating what engagement was taking place, the project looked at the engagement methods the different organisations are using, the barriers to engagement they were experiencing, and the learning around how the barriers are being navigated.

The findings will be used by the LLR ICS to help inform future engagement with underserved communities and encourage collaboration on this agenda between ICS partners.
